About Our Founder, David M. Umbria

David M. Umbria

I am a certified personal trainer, certified nutrition coach, weight management specialist, strength and conditioning specialist, and life coach with a deep-rooted passion for guiding individuals on their journey to better health and wellness. My professional background includes managing a successful multi-generational, multi-location gym, as well as extensive experience in both individual and group personal training.


My personal journey has been a transformative one. For the majority of my life, I struggled with being overweight and faced significant health challenges, including type 2 diabetes with an A1c consistently in the 9’s, and atherosclerosis with triglycerides peaking at 600. At my heaviest, I weighed 314 lbs with a body fat percentage of 48%. To address my health concerns, I underwent bariatric weight loss surgery, commonly known as the sleeve. While I initially lost 70 lbs post-surgery, I experienced a setback by regaining nearly 40 lbs due to not changing my lifestyle, habits, and mindset.


Realizing I was at risk of reversing the progress I had made and re-experiencing the health issues associated with being morbidly overweight, I made a decisive choice to take control of my life. Through consistent, sound nutrition and dedicated exercise, I not only improved my physical health but also discovered a profound appreciation for fitness and wellness. I went from 314 lbs, my highest, to an all-time low of 162 lbs, and from a body fat percentage of 48% to an all-time low of 18%. Today, my A1c levels are consistently in the high 4’s, and my triglycerides are around 60. This journey has inspired me to help others who wish to transform their lives, just as I did.


I am committed to empowering those who seek meaningful change, fostering not just physical strength, but also the mindset and habits essential for lasting wellness.
